| DALTON TOWNSHIP SPECIAL BOARD MEETING-MAY 12, 2006
12:30 P.M.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott Hladki, Mary Ellen Sherwood, Rosemary Rinella, Elizabeth (Petsy) Jenkins.
BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Mike Hiner, Lynn Young, Diane Misze.
Scott Hladki, Supervisor, called the meeting to order at the Dalton Township Hall at 12:30 p.m.
AWARD BID FOR WHITEHALL ROAD SEWER:
A tabulation of the bids received was prepared by the Township's Engineers, Johnson and Anderson, Inc. (J&A). Jackson-Merkey Contractors of Muskegon was the low bidder with a bid of $1,862,534.95, stating this bid is substantially below the engineer's estimate.
Based on the information that J&A received they recommended that Dalton Township award the bid for the Whitehall Road Sanitary Sewer Phase I to Jackson-Merkey Contractors in the amount mentioned. Scott stated that we can award the bid; however, the work cannot begin until the bonds are sold.
Motion by Mary Ellen, support by Rosemary, PASSED to award the bid to Jackson-Merkey for Phase I of the Whitehall Road Sanitary Sewer Project. Roll call vote. Yes: Mary Ellen, Rosemary, Petsy and Scott. No: none.
ALTERNATE ONE OR TWO-DESIGN OF THE METER STATIONS:
Scott stated that the DEQ did not have a preference of either design. He stated the County does recommend Alternate Number One Design be used for the meter station.
Motion by Mary Ellen, support by Rosemary, PASSED to approve Alternate Number One as the meter station of choice as recommended by the County. Roll call vote. Yes: Mary Ellen, Rosemary, Petsy and Scott. No: none.
DPW CONTRACT:
The Charter Township of Muskegon, and the Townships of Dalton, Fruitland and Laketon, have requested that the County of Muskegon, through it's Department of Public Works, take the necessary steps under the Provisions of Act 185 to finance costs of acquiring, constructing and financing water system improvements to service the townships mentioned.
Motion by Rosemary, support by Mary Ellen, PASSED to approve the DPW Contract as recommended by the township's attorney. Roll call vote. Yes: Rosemary, Mary Ellen, Petsy and Scott. No: none.
DPW RESOLUTION:
Motion by Mary Ellen, support by Rosemary, PASSED to approve the Resolution which approves the DPW Contract as recommended by the township's attorney. Roll call vote. Yes: Mary Ellen, Rosemary, Petsy and Scott. No: none.
