FRED MEIJER BERRY JUNCTION TRAIL RESOLUTION:
At the last regular board meeting, Scott stated that he would like to call this special meeting of the board as a resolution is being prepared by the County with regard to the Berry Junction Trail and will be forwarded to him for the Board's consideration.
Also at the last regular meeting of the Board, County Commissioner, Chuck Buzzell, was present and explained why the county needs this resolution adopted. Mr. Buzzell explained that the county's grant writers will apply for the grant for the local municipalities matching funds. In turn the County will accept the funds and oversee the project. He explained further that the cities and townships will be responsible for their respective portions of the Trail's maintenance.

Mary Ellen presented the board with the final approved copy of the 2007-2008 fiscal year budget. Mary Ellen stated that the budget public hearing was published and held as prescribed by law and the budget was approved at the last regular meeting. She stated that this is the final copy of the budget with changes made at the last meeting and clerical corrections made.
BOARD COMMENTS:
Diane stated that she spoke with legal counsel at the MTA with regard to spending up to $1,000.00 without board approval as this was discussed at the budget hearing. She stated that she was told that if the township has approved a budgeted item up to $1,000.00 then this amount can be spent without board approval as this is how the current policy of the township reads. She stated that anything above the $1,000.00, or if the amount to be spent is above the budgeted amount, then this must first come to the board for approval. The plumbing inspector's proposed contract was discussed and a draft copy provided to the board members. No action was taken.
